Join us for an insightful discussion on the opportunities and challenges faced by countries introducing the malaria vaccine, focusing on the crucial role of civil society and local partners in enhancing community engagement and advocating for the successful rollout of this life-saving intervention.

Key Objectives

  • Experience Sharing: Establish a platform for civil society and local partners to exchange experiences, challenges, and lessons learned in promoting malaria vaccine uptake at the community level. The discussion will spotlight countries that introduced malaria vaccines through Gavi’s support, such as Cameroon, Benin, Ghana, Kenya, Liberia, Sierra Leone, Malawi, and Burkina Faso.
  • Advocacy for Scale-Up: Highlight the vital role of civil society and local partners in supporting advocacy for the introduction, scale-up, and demand generation for malaria vaccination at both national and sub-national levels.
  • Malaria Control: Emphasize the significant contributions of civil society partners to effective malaria control, aligning with the principles of the Yaoundé Declaration.

Target Audience

This session is designed for frontline practitioners from CSO partners, government officials, and Gavi Alliance partners in Gavi-supported countries, particularly those involved in malaria vaccine introduction and rollout.

This 90-minute session will include a moderated panel discussion followed by an interactive Q&A session with the audience. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage directly with experts and peers, fostering a collaborative environment for knowledge sharing and advocacy planning.
