Global High-Level Summit
Gavi along with co-hosts the European Union and the Gates Foundation announced that the Global Summit: Health & Prosperity through Immunization, in support of Gavi’s next five-year strategic period, will be held in Brussels on 25 June 2025.
The Summit, which will coincide with the European Council Meeting, was previously scheduled 19-20 March 2025. The decision to select a new date was taken collectively to ensure that this Summit is keenly focused on Gavi’s core mission of protecting children and communities around the world and helping to protect our world from disease outbreaks.
We see strong alignment among our donors and stakeholders on the importance of Gavi’s mission, which is illustrated by the fact that we have now secured over US$3 billion in early pledges – including Indonesia which is pledging to Gavi for the first time.
Recent Pledges
Canada pledges new support to Gavi
We’re pleased to share that Canada has pledged CAD 675 million in new funding for Gavi’s next strategic period from 2026 to 2030.
The support moves Gavi closer to its goal to immunise at least 500 million children and keep our world safe by investing in global health security.
Canada is a leading donor to Gavi, having provided more than US$1 billion in direct contributions to Gavi since 2002.
"This vital support builds on many years of partnership, and as we look forward this investment will ensure that hard-won gains are preserved, our outbreak and emergency response mechanisms are leveraged to keep the world safe, the most impactful vaccines continue to be accessible around the world, and that vulnerable populations, particularly women and girls, are given the opportunity to thrive."
