Dear Colleagues,
We are writing to cordially invite you to participate in the second edition of our Civil Society Dialogue Series, themed “Build Back Better: Strengthening Partnerships for Strengthened CSO-led Accountability and Equity in Immunisation”.
The event will take place on:
Wednesday, 26th July 2023
15:00-16:30 EAT | 14:00-15:30 CAT | 1300-1430 WAT
12:00-13:30 GMT | 08:00-9:30 EDT.
In the face of ongoing challenges brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic and existing inequities in immunisation, this series aims to strengthen CSO-led accountability and partnerships to help us “build back better”. Despite remarkable progress, a number of children remain unreached by crucial immunisation efforts, putting them at risk of vaccine-preventable diseases.
We believe that our collective efforts, partnerships, and resolve can make a significant difference in reaching every child. Therefore, we extend this invitation to civil society organisations, donors, UN agencies, regional health practitioners, academia, research institutions, and EPI teams at the country level to come together and address these critical issues.
During the event, we will delve into various important topics, including
- Updates on the Mid-Term Review (MTR)
- Recent Gavi Board decisions
- New WEUNIC data
- Updates on the World Children’s Report , among others
The key presentation for this session will be by Gavi on the progress on the Malaria Vaccine rollout , exploring opportunities for collaboration and joint action by CSOs.
Additionally, PATH will give a presentation on the essential role of civil society in Gavi Full Portfolio Plan applications at the country level , reflecting on the key contributions CSOs are making to achieve immunisation goals.
We also take this opportunity to invite you to join us for the ‘Immunisation Today Podcast’ on Friday, 28th July at 3pm EAT. Live on the Gavi CSO Constituency Twitter page (link below), and under the same theme, will further extend the conversation and bring together a wider group of CSOs for insightful panel discussions.
These sessions will provide an opportunity to share experiences and insights, enabling us to learn from each other’s successes and challenges and collectively work towards improved immunisation outcomes.
We look forward to your participation in this important dialogue, working together to ensure no child is left behind. Agenda coming soon.
Feel free to share this invitation with your network!
